The third day of our stay in Saigon was reserved for continuing our search for motorcycles in Saigon. We also got a little surprise that was totally expected though! Our biorhythm got programmed to sleeping to at least 2 PM.

We sat down for an hour or so at the street food stall on the main street, and saw a dark cloud coming closer.
With the clouds came wind, and with the wind came the rain. Shortly after, heavy rain ensued.

Rainy Saigon
We decided to split up to our first seller, who said that he could get us a deal of 3 Yamaha Nuovo bikes for 400$. Sounds too good to be true, but worth a look. Me and Antonio got to Saigon Motorcycles for the raincoats while Darian took the Grab to the seller. The raincoats cost 200.000 VND each, and I also borrowed one of the helmets. Saigon traffic is really crazy!
Once Antonio and I got on the main street, we were riding through holes and labyrinthian passages of buses and cars. Bikes contest to get into their sweet spots. After taking a wrong turn at the labyrinthian alley and losing GPS signal, we managed to find the seller even before the Grab ride came over there.

There weren’t any Yamaha Nuovo bikes, but there was SYM Atilla bike for 7.000.000 VND and Yamaha Sirius for 9.000.000 VND. I tried out the Atilla but realized that I would need something different for the roads of Cambodia.
After checking out the first shop, we had another agreement deeper inside District 25. The rain started pouring even more, and we got there with a Grab drive while Antonio followed us on his bike.

The traffic in Saigon continues regardless of heavy rain. Things just get more dangerous in these conditions, but, it's perfectly normal!
The second seller wasn’t around, so we took a walk around to see if there are more places to find bikes. We found a place that was selling a lot of bikes between 4.000.000 VND and 12.000.000 VND.
The owner of the shop also knew very good English and was really lighthearted with the bargaining jokes. 
The happiness when your workplace is inside and the poor sods are out there on the downpour.
Another arrangement with Saigon Motorcycles was waiting, so we decided to check that option out again. The owner called us a Grab, and we drove through the rainy and heavy traffic back to our neighborhood, with Antonio following the car again. This time, we got to try two newer Yamaha Nuovo models. Some of them need some patching up, but the driving conditions are reasonable for now.
When you consider the prices that are between 5.000.000 VND and 8.000.000 VND, it’s a good deal! The bikes also have phone holders, which can be quite useful for road trips in Vietnam. We agreed to come back tomorrow morning to check out the patched up bikes and make the final decision.
